Abstract
Abstract: The paper interprets Hegel's distinction between classical and modern art, an overview of Hegel's work in the field of art and the very role and value it gives to art in the system of absolute spirit. What is the subject of aesthetics and why does natural beauty not enter its subject, what are the methods of studying the artistically beautiful and are there any ideas about art that are unjustified, how the concept of art has been understood throughout history? - are some of the questions Hegel answered , and which are found in this paper. The paper deals with the ideal of the artistically beautiful, the distinction between classical and modern art, and briefly presents an example of classical and romantic architecture from the system of individual arts.
