HUMANIZATION OF MEDICAL PRACTICE: ETHICAL DIMENSIONS OF THE DOCTOR-PATIENT RELATIONSHIP

Abstract

This paper analyzes the transformation of the doctor-patient relationship in the context of contemporary technological and social changes. The focus is on how, under the influence of technical and economic innovations, artificial intelligence and value pluralism, the dimensions of communication, trust and responsibility in medicine are changing. The paper presents an overview of different models of the doctor-patient relationship, from the traditional paternalistic, through the informative, to the model of shared decision-making and the integrative model based on the ethics of care. The author emphasizes the importance of an ethical framework and education for both doctors and patients, and concludes that even in the era of technological medicalization, the preservation of human dignity and trust must remain at the core of medical practice.
